The company secured premises through Defence Estates within the confines of HM Naval Base Devonport, resulting in a relationship between the Ministry of Defence and Relay to the benefit of both parties. As the Company developed, partnering arrangements between other Defence contractors resulted in Relay being involved in post-build guarantee work and fleet-wide fits of various items of electronic hardware, together with the associated platform modifications.

The acquisition of a similar Portsmouth-based company and integration into the Denholm Group has enabled Relay to offer its specialist services through offices in Scotland and England.
